Cygnus is a proudly Canadian and independently owned veterinary teleradiology company. We pride ourselves on making close relationships with our referring clinics and supporting the Canadian veterinary community with high quality, affordable, diagnostic imaging interpretation.Our founders come from an academic background and are heavily involved in radiology trainee education as well as research and teaching. With access to an extensive library of medical journals, an evidence-based medicine approach to cases, and focus on pathophysiology, our academic team is here to help you help your patients. Cases are often read by a radiology resident and every case is reviewed by a board certified radiologist, ensuring your case is thoroughly reported, every time.Radiographs:
Our team offers same-day radiograph consultations for cases submitted between before 8 pm Eastern, Monday to Friday. Cases submitted after 8 pm or on weekends are often read the same day, however have guaranteed 24 hr turn around.Ultrasound:
Ultrasound cases are reported within 24 hours. We offer full abdominal and focused examination fees. While we do not currently offer mobile ultrasound services directly we work with a number of trusted mobile sonographers. Please reach out if interested.CT and MRI:
Our team specializes in tomographic imaging including neurology consultations. Tomographic imaging turn around is typically within 24 hrs.Avian & Exotics:

The Team
Based out of the Ontario Veterinary College in Guelph, Ontario, Canada, our team of radiology residents and radiologists are ready to support your veterinary practice and offer an extensive and diverse background.
Radiologists
Dr. Alex zur Linden DVM, DACVR (co-founder):
Alex grew up in Vancouver, British Columbia, and did his undergrad in molecular biology and biochemistry, and animal physiology. He attended veterinary school at the Western College of Veterinary Medicine in Saskatoon, Saskatchewan. From there a small animal rotating internship was completed at the Veterinary Medical and Surgical Group in Ventura California, before completing a diagnostic imaging residency at Iowa State University in Ames, Iowa. He joined the department of clinical studies at the Ontario Veterinary College in Guelph, Ontario in 2012. His research interests include ultrasound training model construction and testing, interventional radiology procedures, and use of 3D printing in clinical patients, teaching, and research.
Dr. Ryan Appleby DVM, DACVR (co-founder):
Ryan Appleby was born and raised in Toronto, Ontario. He completed his residency at NC State in 2019. His research interests include the role of artificial intelligence in diagnostic imaging, imaging of the urinary tract as well as ultrasound elastography. Ryan serves as an associate editor of the journal Veterinary Radiology and Ultrasound and was the guest editor in chief for the VRU Special Issue on Artificial Intelligence. Ryan is passionate about teaching students and general practitioners about Radiology and started the website obivet.com to provide continuing education and case interpretations in a short, video-based format.
Dr. Steven Robillard DVM, DACVR (consulting radiologist)
Dr. Robillard is originally from Milton, Ontario and completed his veterinary school at Cornell University in 2018, and his radiology residency at the University of Florida in 2023. He has an interest in multi-modality interpretation and cross-sectional imaging, in particular. His hobbies include sports and traveling.
Dr. Pablo Espinosa-Mur LV, DVSc, DACVS-LA, DACVR, DACVR-EDI (consulting radiologist)
Dr. Pablo Espinosa Mur graduated from the Universidad Complutense of Madrid and completed a rotating internship at the CHUV of the University of Montreal. He then completed a one-year specialty internship followed by a surgical residency at UC Davis where he stayed as Clinical faculty for 2 years. At UC Davis he actively participated in musculoskeletal PET scan research. Following two years of private practice in Germany, Pablo completed a radiology program and Doctorate in Veterinary Science at the Ontario Veterinary College, University of Guelph. Pablo is presently an Assistant Professor of Diagnostic Imaging in the Department of Clinical Studies, Ontario Veterinary College. Dr. Pablo Espinosa Mur is boarded in surgery (ACVS) and radiology (ACVR) and is a founding member of the European college of Veterinary Sports Medicine and Rehabilitation (ECVSMR).
Dr. Rajdeep (Raj) Multani BVSc, MMB, DACVR (consulting radiologist)
Dr, Multani is a highly accomplished veterinary professional originally from India, where he earned his veterinary degree in 2013. He advanced his expertise with a Master’s in Medical Biotechnology from the University of Windsor, Canada, and obtained his Canadian veterinary license in 2015. Dr. Multani has built a solid foundation through extensive experience in both general and specialty practices across Ontario.In 2019, he completed a rotating internship at the Veterinary Emergency Clinic in Toronto, followed by a residency in Diagnostic Imaging at North Carolina State University. In 2024, Dr. Multani achieved board certification and became a Diplomate of the American College of Veterinary Radiology (ACVR). His professional interests focus on cross-sectional and ultrasound imaging, where he actively engages in education and both research/commercial projects.Dr. Multani is dedicated to addressing the challenges veterinarians encounter in diagnosing and treating their patients. He is committed to fostering collaboration with general practitioners and other specialists to enhance diagnostic processes, ensuring the best possible outcomes for patients.Outside of his professional responsibilities, Dr. Multani maintains an active lifestyle, enjoying activities such as hiking, biking, badminton, and pickleball. He values fitness and often explores the outdoors with his cherished senior dog, Abby. Together, they love traveling and discovering new places, embodying a balanced and dynamic approach to life.

OperationsMeghan Brar MSc (Operations Manager)
With roots in Mississauga and a passion for advancing animal medicine, Meghan earned her MSc in Clinical Studies at the Ontario Veterinary College while developing customized respiratory stents for companion animal patients. While Meghan’s research interests stem in the fusion of medicine and technology to improve animal health, her overall goal is simply to use innovative problem solving to continue to help others in the animal field. On a more personal note, she is also an avid hiker, traveler, and loves, but is terrible at escape rooms.
